Of Jack Todd

Jack Todd is one of our most popular plays for students of this age and level and is a straight up comic adventure story inspired by many world-known classic adventure stories from English literature.

The young Jack Todd, after being shipwrecked at sea, now lives all alone on a remote tropical island. Every day he gets up and goes through the same daily routine to survive on the Island. He gathers food, builds and improves his shelter, keeps himself healthy and dreams of seeing his home again. However, one day everything changes. He is kidnapped from his island by a band of slightly strange buccaneers. This “rescue” by these peculiar pirates puts Jack back into life at sea, with ever present dangers coming from everywhere.

Jack is dragged through his curious adventures, meeting cruel and greedy enemies, but also meeting kindly friends and beautiful creatures at sea as he is taken where no teenage boy has been before as Jack tries to escape and get back home once more.

Jack Todd is a very interactive story, involving the audience at all times in helping Jack overcome the dilemmas he faces to get home once again.
